STOKE Easy Rider Potters suffered another heavy defeat going down 66-28 against Dudley at Monmore Green in the National League on Tuesday night.

The defeat leaves the Potters firmly rooted to the foot of the National League table while Dudley extend their lead at the top of the table.

Both sides went into the meeting using rider replacement with Heathens skipper Ashley Morris unable to take his place and Luke Chessell also being unavailable after both riders crashed out in the meeting at Loomer Road ten days ago.

The Potters went behind in the early heats and trailed 9-3 after the opening two races as Lewis Blackbird and Dan Greenwood gained a 4-2 advantage over Potters skipper Luke Priest and then Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves racing to a maximum 5-1 over Shaun Tedham and Lee Payne.

Steve Worrall gained his first race victory in a Potters race jacket to take victory in heat three and this was followed up by Kyle Hughes who took victory in heat four for two drawn heats, but it was the Potters that were left trailing the Heathens 15-9.

The Heathens extended their lead in heat five with a 5-1 from Paul Starke and Gareth Isherwood over Shaun Tedham after Potters guest Oliver Greenwood looped at the starting gate at the first attempt to run the race and was subsequently disqualified. Blackbird got the better of Hughes in heat six to take the chequered flag with Greenwood third for a Heathens 4-2 heat advantage. This was then followed up by a further 5-1 in heat seven from Blackbird and Clegg over Worrall who had drama prior to the start as his machine stopped on the way to the tapes resulting in the Potters rider running back to the pits to get on his spare bike and then breaking the tapes on his way to the start line, the Potters though trail 29-13 after seven heats.

Potters manager Malcolm Vasey nominates Kyle Hughes for a tactical ride in heat eight, but it was Greenwood who took the victory ahead of Hughes with Payne third for a Potters 5-3 heat advantage.

Hughes was back out in heat nine but unfortunately touched the tapes resulting in the Potters rider going off a fifteen metre handicap. Hughes managed to overhaul partner Tedham but could not get near Heathens pair Starke and Isherwood to give the Heathens a 5-1 and extend their lead over the Potters. The Heathens extended their lead with another 5-1 in heat ten as Blackbird and Worrall battled away before Worrall bit the dust resulting in the race being stopped and awarded with Greenwood taking second and Priest third as Worrall is disqualified and this was followed up with a third successive maximum heat win leaving the Potters trailing 47-21 after eleven heats.

The Potters give Worrall the black and white helmet colour in heat twelve as he takes the second tactical ride for Stoke. The Potter led the race for three and three quarter laps before home star Paul Starke pipped the Potter on the line to take victory and with Greaves third the heat was shared 4-4 but the Potters still trail 51-25.

The Heathens round the meeting off with three successive maximum heat wins to take all three points as they register their biggest win of the season a 66-28 victory.
