DAVE TATTUM

Sunday 19 September, 2021
ON Behalf of everyone connected with Stoke Speedway - riders, officials, track staff and supporters - we wish to pass on our condolences following the sad passing of former Potters promoter, Dave Tattum.

Dave was a loyal and long serving promoter at Stoke Potters for many years and joined Newcastle for the planned 2020 season.

A well known figure throughout the city of Stoke-on-Trent, Dave was a hard working individual who could be seen at Loomer Road working on the track and facilities around the clock.

We have been informed he passed away in the early hours of this morning following an illness which he battled with immense courage.

Long-time friend and former rider and promoter Graham Drury has led ther tributes by saying: "British Speedway has lost an extremely passionate, hard working man and I am personally very saddened by this news.

"Even during his illness he just wanted to fight it privately with the strength he has always shown.

"I have lost a personal friend but British Speedway has lost one of its finest promoters. His passion for the sport was second to none and particularly Stoke Speedway when they were racing."
