POTTERS v ISLE OF WIGHT - PREVIEW

Friday 30 August, 2019
STOKE team manager Adam Isherwood is calling on his riders to secure a morale boosting victory for the team and its supporters when they face the Isle of Wight in the National League at Loomer Road on Saturday night, 7pm.

The A.R. Richards Potters will be at full strength for the clash which sees’ both Joe Lawlor and Connor Coles available after they’ve missed meetings due to riding in the Championship with Leicester and Edinburgh.

Isherwood said “We’ve lost our last two home meetings and we need to give our supporters a long-awaited win. We’ve seen some brilliant racing and nobody can deny that and the results haven’t really shown the effort put in by everyone, but we are not just getting over the line and that’s away also. I’ve actually had supporters from other clubs come over at the end of the meeting and congratulate the team on a great meeting at tracks and have admitted that we deserved something out of those meetings and while that’s great it doesn’t show on the league table. We have a full side on Saturday and hopefully we can get things back on track and a few wins under our belts before the season finishes.”

The Warriors are led by Stoke track specialist Ben Morley who scored double figures last week while guesting for the Belle Vue Colts and he has Cradley’s Jack Smith guesting for Georgie Wood for some solid support. The Warriors also have former Stoke favourite Chris Widman in their line-up. Widman had a torrid start to the season with mechanical issues, but he has since dropped down to the reserve berth and has found his form and will be looking to chalk up a big score against his former employers.
