POTTERS v BELLE VUE - PREVIEW

Friday 23 August, 2019
STOKE look to dust themselves down and pick themselves up when they entertain the Belle Vue Colts in the National League at Loomer Road on Saturday, 7pm.

It’s a local derby that the Potters will want to win and move themselves off the foot of the table as well stopping the Manchester club doing the double over the Potters after the Colts took victory in the first meeting of the season.

Potters boss Adam Isherwood who was disappointed at not coming away with anything from their trip to Plymouth on Friday said “We want to get back to winning ways and it would give us a great boost to beat our local rivals. We have four remaining home meetings starting on Saturday and we would like to win them all. I know it will be difficult against the Colts they are a good side and have picked a good guest in Ben Morley for Leon Flint and Ben normally goes well around Loomer Road, but we are quite capable of beating anyone around our home patch and we need to start against the Colts.”

The Potters have drafted in 15-year old Leicester Cubs rider Dan Thompson who rode well at Loomer Road in the Cubs meeting against Stoke, Thompson replacing Joe Lawlor who is riding for Leicester Lions in the Championship.

STOKE: Tom Perry (Captain), Shelby Rutherford, Dan Thompson, Luke Priest, Connor Coles, Kieran Douglas, Joe Alcock
