POTTERS UP FOR CUP

Friday 02 August, 2019
STOKE A.R. Richards Potters face the Leicester Lion Cubs twice within the space of 24-hours as the two sides go head to head in the National League KO Cup semi-final starting at Loomer road on Saturday night (7pm) and climaxing on Sunday afternoon as the two teams clash again as part of a double-header at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena after the Championship meeting between Leicester Lions and Sheffield starting at 4pm.

The Potters welcome back skipper Tom Perry while Kieran Douglas comes in at reserve for Corban Pavitt and Kean Dicken comes in to replace Joe Alcock.

Leicester have their own injury issues with Joe Thompson and Luke Ruddick both missing the meetings due to concussion with rider replacement being used for Thompson while Matt Marson comes in to replace Ruddick.

Connor Coles commented “We are looking to take a lead to Leicester for Sunday as we look to grab a cup final place. Leicester are a good team and very difficult to beat and they’ve had some good results but, we know what we are capable of and if we can get a large enough lead to take into the second leg we have every chance after all it’s who is in front on aggregate at the end of both meetings that goes through to the final and I feel we have every chance of doing that.”
