STOKE promoter Dave Tattum has confirmed that Luke Chessell will be taking a break from the sport.

The Potters rider had been doubling up with Glasgow in the Championship and informed the Tigers management that he needed a break from racing and also contacted the Stoke promotion. Chessell will face a 28-day ban for witholding services with the announcement.

Tattum said “Luke (Chessell) informed me yesterday that he needed a break from the sport and that he would receive a ban of 28-days. We obviously wish Luke well and he will remain part of the team although he won’t be riding and we are now looking at our options.”
