FORMER double British under -21 and under-19 Champion Josh Bates is the latest rider to be added to the Pride of the Potteries meeting at Loomer Road on Saturday April 13th.

Bates, 23, has also ridden in the British Grand Prix at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium where he was reserve and scored 2 points in the meeting. He also has other titles to his name winning the National League title with Mildenhall and Sheffield a KO Cup title winner with the Fen Tigers and also twice National Trophy winner with Mildenhall.

The Yorkshireman has this season linked up with Championship side Leicester and has previously rode for clubs such as Wolverhampton, Coventry and Birmingham and will most certainly be a contender for the season opener at the Chesterton circuit.

Potters promoter Dave Tattum commented “Josh (Bates) actually gave me a call and asked to be part of the meeting here and I added him to the meeting immediately. He has always gone well around the Stoke track and is a quality rider with plenty of experience and will certainly be challenging for the title along with several other riders in the meeting and I’m really pleased with the way that the field is coming together with several riders announced already that are potential winners of the meeting.”

Bates, joins Potters riders in the meeting along with Ben Barker, Max Clegg, Ellis Perks and David Wallinger as riders already named by the club for the meeting.
