STOKE make the trip down the M6 to face Birmingham in the Travel Plus National League at Perry Barr on Wednesday night, 7.30pm.
The A.R. Richards Potters will again use Tom Perry of the Belle Vue Colts who has plenty of experience of the Perry Barr circuit having rode for the Brummies’ team for several years winning the league title back to back with the West Midlands outfit. Stoke will use rider replacement for Rob Shuttleworth who is unavailable. “Potters team manager Malcolm Vasey said “It’s going to be a difficult meeting against a back to full strength Birmingham team who are brimming with confidence again after a sticky patch over the past month. I’m delighted that Tom (Perry) has agreed to guest for us again he has been absolutely superb for the club and we fully appreciate that as our supporters do also. He will get great support from Max Clegg who is always very professional and I’m sure they will push the home side hard and we will give it our best shot.”
Birmingham are a side pushing for a league play-off place at the end of the season and Brummies’ number one Tom Bacon is in a rich vein of form currently and got one of the fastest times of the season last week at the West Midlands venue. He gets good support from James Shanes, Leon Flint and Danyon Hume who are all having exceptional seasons with Callum Walker completing the top five. Sheldon Davies and former Potter Josh Embleton complete the Birmingham team giving them strength in dept throughout the team.
Birmingham have already beaten the Potters this season doing the double over the Loomer Road club in the National Trophy.
