STOKE A.R. Richards Potters finally get back on track after nearly a month without any action when they make the trip up the M6 to the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester to face the Belle Vue Colts in the Travel Plus National League on Friday night, 7.30pm.

The two sides have already met this season when the Potters lost out 50-37 to the Colts back in May and since then the Colts have risen to the top of the National League table. The Colts have only lost one of their four home matches that coming against Birmingham where they went down to a 50-40 defeat.

The Potters will be at full strength for the meeting although lack of match fitness may hamper them on the big fast Manchester circuit with only Adam Extance having some track action on Tuesday night in an individual meeting at the Isle of Wight.

Belle Vue have Stoke-On-Trent based Jack Smith leading them into action and the Colts skipper is well supported by youngster Kyle Bickley and Tom Perry. Supporting the top three are Ben Woodhull and Joe Lawlor who has made an impressive start to the season and improved of last year. At reserve the Colts have Kean Dicken and Sam Woolley who comes in to replace Paul Bowen.

Stoke team manager Malcolm Vasey returns after some health issues and says “I’m looking forward to returning to the team manager role after a few health issues which are now resolved, Adam (Isherwood) has been doing a great job in my absence and I’m looking forward to meeting up with him tomorrow also.

“Going onto the meeting against Belle Vue we have enormous respect for what they are doing there and will give them that respect. We are all looking forward to racing there again and intend to push them as hard as we can especially with the likes of Max Clegg, Rob Shuttleworth who helped them to the league title last season and Tony Atkin who is having an excellent season for us and we are looking to come away from meeting with something as we always do in every match.”
