STEADY ON BIKE AT BEN FUND BONANZA

Thursday 15 February, 2018
FORMER Stoke Potters rider Garry Stead who was paralysed from the waist down in a crash while representing the Potters as skipper at Somerset over a decade ago will get back on a speedway bike at the Ben Fund Bonanza taking place at Peterborough’s East of England Showground on Sunday 18th March.

Stead commented “Once I’m away things need to be right as I won’t know where my legs are. It’s quite tricky to start with just making sure things are right and it just takes time to do things.

“I still have kevlars in fact I have the actual colours I finished with and I’ve also got a suit going back to 2005 that I never used.

The Ben Fund Bonanza is a very, very worthwhile event and people put a lot on money into it which is invaluable to injured riders.”

The main meeting will feature two former Potters in Steve Worrall and the ever popular ex-Potter Ben Barker as well as 2017 World Champion Jason Doyle.
