STOKE hope it’s third time lucky as they entertain the Isle of Wight Warriors in the Travel Plus National League at Loomer Road on Tuesday night, 7pm.

Storm Brian put paid to the Potters hopes at the weekend causing the Potters management to hastily rearrange the fixture with the co-operation of the Warriors management team.

Stoke will be missing Ryan Terry-Daley who flies back home too New Zealand on Tuesday and will operate rider replacement to cover for his absence. The Warriors have been hit badly with the former Potters riders Ben Wilson and James Cockle while Scott Campos and Adam Portwood also miss the meeting due to work commitments.

The A.R. Richards Potters lost 56-33 at the Smallbrook Stadium back in July and will be looking to gain a victory over the Warriors as both clubs battle to avoid the wooden spoon with Stoke currently bottom of the table a point behind the island outfit. The Warriors will use rider replacement for Ben Wilson while Connor Coles, former Potter Chris Widman and Joe Lawlor lead the Isle of Wight into action along with National League title winner Luke Woodhull making up the Warriors top five. Jamie Sealey lines-up at reserve along with Jamie Bursill.

Stoke promoter Dave Tattum commented “It is an extremely important meeting for us as we look to move off the bottom of the league and avoid the wooden spoon. A victory on Tuesday would see us go level on points with Buxton also and we face them on Friday here at Loomer Road. We are very capable of winning the meeting against the Isle of Wight and cannot take them for granted and we most certainly want to end the season on a high for supporters so if we can take the points on Tuesday it will then leave us on a high to go into the Buxton meeting on Friday.”
