STOKE A.R. Richards Potters gained a 49-41 victory in their KO Cup quarter-final 2nd leg meeting at Loomer Road on Saturday night but it was Mildenhall who moved into the semi-finals of the competition gaining a 98-82 aggregate victory.

The meeting was a close affair throughout the meeting with the Potters gaining a 13-11 lead after four heats gaining a maximum 5-1 heat advantage from Lee Dicken and Shaun Tedham over Danno Verge after Daniel Halsey fell while trying to pass Dicken. Stoke gained a further 5-1 from the impressive Mitchell Davey who partnered Paul Burnett home with Halsey in third place to extend the Potters lead to 6 points.

Jordan Jenkins and former Potter Jon Armstrong immediately hit back with a 5-1 for the Tigers in the following heat over Ryan Terry-Daley to reduce the Potters lead to 2 points with Stoke leading 22-20 at the midway point of the meeting.

The Potters gained two successive heat advantages a 5-1 from Tony Atkin and Luke Priest over Drew Kemp after Halsey had retired from the race and then a 4-2 from Davey and Burnett over Jenkins to give the Potters an 8 point lead on the night.

A series of drawn heats saw the Tigers gain the aggregate victory over the two legs but it was the home side who took the spoils on the night.

Mitchell Davey was in impressive form for the Potters with his only defeat coming in heat thirteen when Ben Morley got the better of the Potters number one but Davey got the better of Morley in the final race clocking the fastest time of the night in the process.

Potters manager for the evening Adam Isherwood commented “It was always going to be tough to pull back 24-points and we have to admit we lost the meeting down at West Row in the first leg, but it was pleasing to get a win under our belts and take the home leg as we did tonight. Everyone put in a performance and the pleasing thing was that all of our riders were eligible to ride in heat fifteen which shows that everyone did their job tonight. We now have to put the KO Cup behind us now and look forward to the trip to Lakeside on Sunday afternoon.”
